Day 1 Beijing

Arrive in Beijing, the capital of China. You are greeted by your guide at the airport and transferred to the hotel. After a short break in the hotel, you will take rickshaws through Beijing's Hutong, experiencing the lifestyle of the Beijing locals.

 

Day 2 Beijing

After breakfast, we will visit Great Wall, one of the eight ancient wonders of between 6000- 6500km long built over several centuries to keep out the invading northern tribes. After a hike along a portion of the Wall, we visit the Ming Tombs, a secluded valley housing 14 imperial burial mounds.

 

Day 3 Beijing

Today we will visit Tiananmen Square, the biggest city square in the world. Covering 440,000 square meters, it has witnessed many important historic events taking place here. Then pay a visit to the Forbidden City, one of the five most famous palaces in the world where 24 emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties lived and ruled for over 500 years. The grand palaces and courtyards, the unique design as well as the valuable collections attract millions of people to admire. After having lunch you will visit the Temple of Heaven which is one of the important landmarks of Beijing.

 

Day 4 Beijing

In the morning, we visit the Summer Palace which was built 800 years ago. It is the second largest and best-preserved royal garden in China, with 294 hectares including the beautiful and serene Kunming Lake. After lunch, you will be free to explore in 798 Factory, which is a new rising, avant-garde and trendy space that hosts high-level cultural, artistic and commercial activities. And you will take overnight train to Xi’an.

 

Day 5 Xi’an

Upon arrival, you will transfer to the hotel to have your breakfast. After a short rest, we will start our full day tour. Surely Terracotta Warriors is our first destination. It is the most significant archeological excavations of the 20th century. It was listed by UNESCO in 1987 as one of the world cultural heritages. The museum covers an area of 16,300 square meters, divided into three sections: No. 1 Pit, No. 2 Pit, and No. 3 Pit respectively. And then we will visit Ancient City Wall. It's the most complete city wall that has survived in China, as well being one of the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world. Muslim Street is a wonderful place to walk around; certainly we won’t miss this place.

 

Day 6 Xi’an - Shanghai

In the morning we will visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. It is a well-preserved ancient building and a holy place for Buddhists. After lunch, you will take flight to Shanghai in the afternoon. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel. The rest of the day is free at leisure.

 

Day 7 Shanghai

Shanghai visit starts with a tour of the premier attractions of the city where we can immerse ourselves in the culture and sophistication of this cosmopolitan. You can stroll along the lovely paths and pavilions of Yu Garden in Shanghai Old City and at the same time experience Shanghai recently gained modernity. In the evening we will take Huangpu River cruise along the riverfront Bund and admire the night lights on both sides of the harbor.

 

Day 8 Shanghai - Suzhou

In the morning drive to Suzhou and appreciate the elegant classical Suzhou garden with a tour to the Master of Nets Garden to understand the art of Chinese aesthetics through every rock, waterway, plant and flower. And then we will take a short cruise over the Grand Canal, which used to be the most important over-water connection between the north and south of China. After lunch, we will visit Tongli Watertown. This is a town on the river whose streets are supplemented by rivers, upon which numerous boats float back and forth. Its 20 ancient bridges of the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties join the town into an integrated whole.

 

Day 9 Suzhou - Shanghai

After breakfast, we will drive back to Shanghai and visit Shanghai Museum, mainly the exhibitions of painting, bronze, sculpture, ceramics, calligraphy, jade, Ming & Qing Dynasty furniture, coins, seals, and ethnic artwork. The rest time is at your own leisure. You could wander in Nanjing Road or pack your package for departure.

 

Day 10 Departure

Your 10 days Classic Great Wall Tour is near the end. Transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
