In the past poets and painters have drawn inspiration from Huangshan’s iconic beauty. Its archetypal granite peaks and twisted pines are wreathed in spectral folds of mist, Huangshan’s idyllic views easily nudge it into China’s top 10. Come and take your camera to join us keep stunning moments forever in your mind.

 

In different seasons you could see different breathtaking views. From April to June generally is misty, which means you may be treated to some stunning scenery, but you are just likely to encounter a thick fog that obscures everything except for a line of yellow ponchos extending up the trail. And from July to August is the rainy season. Storms can blow through fairly quickly, however. From September to October is considered to be the best travel period, weather is clear. However, without misty you may not get perfect pictures of this wonderland at the duration.

 

Schedule:

D1 Shanghai to Hangzhou

Today you will take express train from Shanghai to Hangzhou. Upon arrival, we drive back to will ahead to Huangshan. It’s about 250 km from Hangzhou to Huangshan.

       

D2 Mt. Huangshan

After breakfast, we will take Yuping cable car up to the Huangshan Mountain and visit Jade Screen Scenic Area of Mt. Huangshan. In front of the Jade Screen Pavilion, there is a terrace named Wenshu Terrace. On either side of the terrace there are Lion Rock and the Elephant Trunk Rock guarding it. This platform is the best location to enjoy the most stunning beauty of Mt. Huangshan, such as the sea of clouds, the famous Huangshan greeting pine and seeing-a-visitor-off pine trees, and the rock formations: Squirrel Skipping to Tiandu Peak, the Peacock Playing with the Lotus Flower. Tonight we will stay at White Cloud Hotel.

 

D3 Mt. Huangshan

Cross fingers for us, we could meet a nice weather to have a lovely sunrise. We will spend the rest of day to explore West Sea Valley (Xihai Valley). It is endowed with the most beautiful landscape on Huangshan Mountain. The peaks here are so numerous that they cannot be counted. You will see an old styled pavilion nestled in the mountain side. Looking into the distance, successively stunning peaks making visitors feel as though they have stepped into an open-air stone museum. On the right side of the pavilion, visitors can see the Immortal Putting His Shoes in the Sun rock formation and on the left side the Immortal Putting His Boots in the Sun. Straight in front of the pavilion, the Wusong Fighting with a Tiger formation can be seen. Behind the pavilion, the Red Clouds Peak rises to over 1700 meters above sea level. Overnight at Paiyun Hotel or similar.

 

D4 Mt. Huangshan to Hongcun

Cross fingers for us, we could meet a nice weather to have a lovely sunrise. After breakfast, we will visit the hub of Mt. Huangshan, North Sea Scenic Zone of Huangshan, where most of the most famous scenery and scenic spots meet: Lion Peak, Shixin Peak, Stalagmite Peak, the Refreshing Terrace, the Monkey Gazing at the Sea, the Immortal Shouldering the Treasure, the Flying Stone and more. And then we will take cable car down to the mountain. One night at Hongcun Hotel.

 

D5 Hongcun to Tunxi to Shanghai

In the morning we will visit Hongcun Village. It is unique among all Chinese villages for its very sophisticated water system. Water is the main feature in this village. Its two large ponds are connected to a series of flowing streams which pass by every house, providing water for washing, cooking, and bathing.

And then we will visit Tunxi Ancient Street. Originally built during the Song Dynasty (960-1279), the deep and narrow Tunxi Ancient Street is paved with maroon flagstones. The buildings are built in the traditional Hui ethnic minority group style. Most of them are only three stories high, with a stone foundation and brick walls. The houses are decorated with gray tiles, exquisite wood carvings, white walls, and horse-head double eaves on the roofs. In the evening, you will take flight back to Shanghai.

     

D6 Shanghai

Take a city tour to visit the city's major attractions and get a general understanding of this city. First you will visit the Shanghai Museum, one of the best in China, to learn the history of this city. Also you will have the chance to get a bird’s view of the whole Pudong new area on top of the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. And then take a leisure stroll in the fabulous Yu Garden at the Old Quarter, the Jade Buddha Temple, the famous waterfront Bund and Nanjing Road at the shopping center.

 

D7 Shanghai

Today is free at your own leisure.

 

D8 Departure

Today your 8 Days Mt. Huangshan Photography Tour will be end. And you will take sweet memories fly back to your warm home. Welcome back to China anytime.
